One of the 11 voters targeted says after Recount Commission’s decision Tuesday: ‘A win for democracy today, in a small way.’ Still, no resolution in Senate District 23 until mid-August
Copenhaver is a disgrace. There is NOTHING in the state or federal constitution that says a citizen has to vote for the same party their entire life. She is a sore loser and a miserable excuse for a public servant. I almost always vote a straight Democratic ticket, but if there is a decent public servant running on the Republican ticket, I will cross over and vote for them, because no political party has a monopoly on good people.
This is tiny taste of what Republicans want to do all across America. Indiana should be ashamed. I can vote for whomever I want to vote for no matter my party affiliation.
This is only a faction of the Republican Party. Please do not paint all Republicans with the same brush. Just like I understand it is only a faction of the Democratic Party that wants socialism - it is not reflective of the entire party
The law, no one has ever heard about until now, needs to be changed. I should get to vote for anyone I deem fit for office and my vote should remain private. I should be allowed to vote in a Republican primary because I particularly like a candidate and do plan on voting for them in the general election even though I’ll be voting mostly for Democratic candidates in other races. Some Republican candidates seem focused on undermining our election integrity because they just can’t admit or accept they lost.
"Copenhaver, ... a staffer in Lt. Gov. Micah Beckwith’s office"......that she works for and supports such a racist, homophobic, misogynist person is such a strong disqualifying position that it's disgraceful she got the number of votes she did.

Glad I still have the right to vote for whichever party I choose in the primaries. A victory for democracy on this one.
I’d keep an eye out for a bill to close the primaries in the 2027 session. Pretty much guaranteed to sail through.
Unless enough of us vote enough of them OUT.

Copenhaver is a [REDACTED TO AVOID LAWSUIT] and should [REDACTED TO AVOID LAWSUIT]
Dave,
Thanks for the info on my possibly having to play-into the absurdity of Copenhaver's wanted to paper me with a subpoena.
The reason Independents are allowed to vote in primaries is because otherwise we would be locked out of electoral candidate choice process.
When I was living in Massachusetts in 2000, there was a first step that one could change parties up to a day before the primary election.
Th Indiana process is so much more clear-eyed, logical, and democratic.

If the IGA closes primaries over this, the next few elections will be an absolute romp to watch.
