Here’s how to concede graciously: “Tonight, the voters have spoken. I congratulate the winners, and I will do my utmost to support them to make West Lafayette an even better place to live. While I did not come out on top, I’m proud that my supporters and I ran a clean, hard-fought campaign on the issues of importance to our city today. Thank you for all for your support. ” I trust the losing candidate said something like this, but that it didn’t make the final cut in this article.

Which race? (You’re correct that I didn’t quote every candidate, including those who won and those who lost.)

I have to think that Dayton voters were tired of the drama from those they voted out.
