This smells of a back door means of a State funded entity extolling a poll tax on legally registered voters.

How so?

If there is a “poll tax”, it already exists in that you need an ID to vote and DL costs money. If you are going to complain about a “poll tax” aim it at that. Mid course the argument falls apart when you realize the Indiana State ID is free.

Not free for out of state students. Most out of state students receive grants from their state to attend Purdue University. Students getting an Indiana state ID lose those grants. There is the hidden cost to cast their vote.

If they are out of state, shouldn’t they be voting absentee?

You should be voting where your legal residence is.

I see the future. My current phone has no apps on it (purposely) and I removed the app store so I wouldn't be able to download apps. I can't even do QR codes. It has been a lovely, quiet device.

You might not even realize it but most phones do QR codes automatically with the camera. It’s not an app, just built in to the OS.

Hi, Dave: Another solid article. Does it require a login or subscription (not sure how I can tell)? I would like to paste a link to this article to a Purdue Parents FB group that is talking about the new IDs (no comments yet about the fact that this doesn't work for local voting). Thank you.
