For Gull, this is probably the case of a lifetime, which would explain her reluctance to give it up. But importing jurors from other counties seems like a stunningly bad idea. It means the jury will likely be composed either of people really pissed off about being dragged from their homes and families for a trial that could easily drag on for weeks, or -- worse yet -- people too eager to serve as jurors on the particular case. I'll be interested to see whether Allen's attorneys attempt to pursue an interlocutory appeal on this issue. That would certainly slow things down, and if Allen doesn't get bail, might greatly extend his stay in jail. Maybe they'll save the issue for a post-trial appeal (assuming one is necessary).

I wonder if the bail hearing is going to be open to the public. I might want to attend.
