Your turn: Who has the best breaded tenderloin around here?
As Gov. Holcomb stumps for a bill to make the breaded tenderloin Indiana’s state sandwich, where’s the best place to get one in Lafayette/West Lafayette ... or across Indiana?
Not to typecast these Based in Lafayette reader threads or anything – after rounding up Lafayette/West Lafayette restaurant recommendations and best places to get pizza around here in recent weeks – but Gov. Eric Holcomb opened the door on this one.
Last week, as Holcomb laid out his budget recommendations ahead of Monday’s start of the 2023 Indiana General Assembly session, the governor said: “We're going to settle the question once and for all about what is the official state sandwich of Indiana. … And it will be the breaded tenderloin.” He said bill will be introduced soon. (And count on hearing about it during Holcomb’s State of the State address Tuesday night.)
Fair enough. So, today’s question: What place has the best breaded tenderloin in Lafayette/West Lafayette? And what makes it the best?

TC’s in downtown Battle Ground.
The Black Sparrow’s breaded tenderloin with a cup of house made soup is a steal AND delicious! The breading is crispy and the toppings (extra pickles and mustard, please) and a top quality bun pull it all together. Add the Hungarian mushroom soup, if it’s on.
