The Black Sparrow’s breaded tenderloin with a cup of house made soup is a steal AND delicious! The breading is crispy and the toppings (extra pickles and mustard, please) and a top quality bun pull it all together. Add the Hungarian mushroom soup, if it’s on.

I've heard tell of the Edinburgh Diner, which I've yet to try. But many praise it.

Locally, TC's and Tick Tock are reliably good. Sixth Street Dive's is good when it's "on" but I've also had them burnt to a leathery crisp there. Just a bit up the road, The Sandwich Shop in Delphi also has a great BPT and the atmosphere is hard to beat.

The Local Bar has a great BPT sandwich, too. Unfortunately. the smoky ambiance makes it an undesirable dining experience for me.

Doesn’t the Local have a new owner? Maybe smoke free?

Haven't heard. But I would give it another try if it was smoke-free now. It worked for the Tick Tock! They're still crazy busy after going smoke free a few years back.

They could be a free five star restaurant and the moment I smelled cigarette smoke, I would just walk out.

Red Bird Diner in Dayton. Paired with their Onion Rings, just fantastic!

BTW, in Germany you can find great ones too. You just have to order schweinerschnitzel.

Two friends gave “two thumbs up” to Scott St Pub’s breaded tenderloin when we ate there last week. And I’ll put in a plug for their onion rings….BEST in town!

BN Diner has two sizes. Each is as big as your face. Freshly pounded. Meaty. Never confused with a fritter from the freezer.

I think you need to go by county.

In Tippecanoe, TC's followed by Black Sparrow.

In Pulaski, One Eyed Jack's in Winnemac is great.

In Cass, Amelio's On The River.

I've heard great things about the monster at the Edinburgh diner, but haven't had a change to get there.

This has been a quest of mine since moving here over a year ago. I have lots of places left to try. So far: Black sparrow has the best Deluxe version and Sixth street dive has the best classic. Think Tik Tok and TCs are next on my list.
